Catalonia is Spain's third mobile home market, combining the Costa Brava, Costa Daurada, and Catalan Pyrenees as top-tier tourist attractions. The region has over 350 campsites — the highest density in Spain — and a mature market for mobile home rental investment. Barcelona, Girona, and Tarragona concentrate demand, whilst the interior (Cerdanya, Val d'Aran) attracts a premium mountain tourism segment. Green Village delivers across all of Catalonia. Transport is organised by Mobile Home Logistic, Green Village's logistics division, and is included in the delivered price.
Regulations
In Catalonia, mobile homes in campsites are regulated by Llei 13/2002 de Turisme de Catalunya. Since Supreme Court ruling 1917/2024, every mobile home needs a planning licence like a prefabricated house (art. 11.4.c of the Ley de Suelo), campsites included: the campsite's tourism licence alone is not enough. On private land, a municipal licence under the POUM (Pla d'Ordenacio Urbanistica Municipal) is required. VAT is 21%. The Catalan tourist tax (IEET) applies to mobile homes in tourist accommodation: 0.65 to 2.25 EUR/night.
Transport
Catalonia is served from Portugal or from elsewhere in Europe. Transport is organised by Mobile Home Logistic, Green Village's logistics division, and is included in the delivered price. Green Village obtains every permit it needs.
Pricing
Prices in Catalonia are above the Spanish average, reflecting premium tourist demand. Used units from 12,943 euros; new from 40,000 euros. Pitch rents in Costa Brava campsites: 3,000 to 7,000 EUR/year. Seasonal rental returns (June-September) can reach 8,000 to 18,000 euros in 12-16 weeks.
Installation
Installation in Catalan campsites follows the standard model: pitch prepared by the operator with connections included. The Mediterranean climate is ideal — no extreme insulation concerns. In the Catalan Pyrenees (Cerdanya, Val d'Aran), reinforced insulation is necessary for sub-zero winter temperatures.
