In Denmark, mobile homes serve holiday stays along the coasts and in the lake country: Blåvand and Henne Strand in west Jutland, Skagen, Løkken and Blokhus in the north, Rømø and Fanø in the Wadden Sea, Hvide Sande and Ringkøbing Fjord, Bornholm, the Kattegat coast of North Zealand around Gilleleje and Tisvildeleje, Marielyst on Lolland-Falster, Djursland and Mols around Grenaa and Ebeltoft, the Lake Highlands around Silkeborg and Skanderborg, and the Limfjord and Himmerland, with campsites and holiday lets. Green Village is an importer and reseller of mobile homes: used and new units from brands such as Willerby, ABI, Atlas, Pemberton, Swift, IRM and O'Hara, plus lodges and tiny houses, delivered anywhere in Denmark. Prices delivered to Denmark start from €11,850 and every unit shows its own price in the catalogue — transport included, VAT extra. The Danish coast is windy and the winters are damp, so the key choice is between a year-round home (insulated walls, floor and roof, double glazing and heating) and a seasonal one, built for spring and summer.
Regulations
A campsite needs a permit, which the municipal council may grant (camping regulation, BEK no. 319/2019, § 2 stk. 1). Camping units include caravans and cabins (campinghytter); permanent cabins may make up at most 40 % of a site's units (§ 1 stk. 3, § 11 stk. 2). According to the official guidance on the camping regulation (VEJ no. 9426, section 8.9), a mobilehome with wheels or a towbar is treated as a caravan, and one with limited mobility, for example with the wheels removed, as a campinghytte. Campinghytter and mobilehomes covered by the camping regulation are exempt from the building-permit application, but not from the building rules (BR18, BEK no. 1399/2019, § 5 stk. 1 no. 7). For a wheeled mobile home on a private plot outside a campsite, ask the municipality (kommune) before you buy. In holiday-house areas a dwelling may not be used for overnight stays from 1 November to the end of February, except short holiday stays (planning act, LBK no. 572/2024, § 40 stk. 1); letting to changing holiday guests is allowed in that period for up to nine weeks (§ 40 stk. 3). A buyer without residence in Denmark who has not lived there for five years in total needs ministerial permission to acquire title to real property (erhvervelsesloven, LBK no. 265/2014, § 1 stk. 1).
Transport
Transport to Denmark is organised by Mobile Home Logistic, the partner logistics company of the same group that transports Green Village homes. It is included in the price delivered to Denmark that every unit shows, and the home is insured at 100 % of its value. Mobile homes are usually 3–4 m wide, so we check the access road and the plot entrance before delivery. The buyer provides access to the plot and room to unload.
Pricing
The price of a mobile home depends mainly on the year, the size (British listings give feet — 35 × 12 ft is about 10.7 × 3.7 m), the number of bedrooms, whether it is built for year-round or seasonal use, and its condition. Prices delivered to Denmark start from €11,850; every unit shows its own price, and new homes, lodges and tiny houses have their own «from» price in the catalogue. The delivered price includes transport. VAT is extra: on delivery to Denmark the Danish standard rate of 25 % applies (VAT act, LBK no. 209/2024, § 33). Prices are in euros. Also budget for what stays with you: the plot, the ground base, water and electricity supply, wastewater (a septic tank or small treatment plant) and local taxes and fees.
Installation
The home stands on its own chassis and does not need classic foundations: a level, load-bearing base is enough — a concrete slab, compacted gravel or concrete blocks — on which it is levelled and stabilised. The Danish coast is windy, so anchoring the home to its base against the wind matters. Winters are damp, so the home's standard matters too: insulation, double glazing and heating, with ventilation against condensation and frost protection for the plumbing. Near the fjords and the Wadden Sea the water table can be high, and the supports are adapted to the ground. Without mains drainage you need a septic tank or a small treatment plant. Bring electricity and water to the plot before delivery.
