In Switzerland, mobile homes serve holiday and leisure stays by Lake Geneva, Lake Maggiore and Lake Lugano in Ticino, and Lakes Thun and Brienz in the Bernese Oberland, as well as in Graubünden, from the Engadin to Davos, and the Jura, especially on campsites. Green Village is an importer and reseller of mobile homes: used and new units from brands such as Willerby, ABI, Atlas, Pemberton, Swift, IRM and O'Hara, plus lodges and tiny houses, delivered anywhere in Switzerland. Prices delivered to Switzerland start from €16,850 and every unit shows its own price in the catalogue — transport included, VAT extra. For the Alps and winter, choose a year-round home with insulated walls, floor and roof, double glazing and heating; for summer holidays by the lakes, a seasonal home may be the right choice.
Regulations
Federal law requires a building permit, compatible zoning and serviced land (RPG, Art. 22 Abs. 1–2); outside building zones, the purpose must require that site and no overriding interests may oppose it (RPG, Art. 24 Abs. 1). In communes above 20 % second homes, new dwellings must be primary homes or managed tourist accommodation (ZWG, Art. 6 Abs. 1; Art. 7 Abs. 1); movable property (Fahrnis) is excluded from the dwelling definition (ZWG, Art. 2 Abs. 1 Bst. e). Persons abroad need cantonal approval to buy land, except for a natural person's main home at their lawful, actual domicile (BewG, Art. 2 Abs. 1; Art. 2 Abs. 2 Bst. b); holiday-home quotas and eligible places depend on cantonal law (BewG, Art. 9 Abs. 2–3). Maximum vehicle width is 2.55 m (SVG, Art. 9 Abs. 1); wider loads need a written single-trip permit (VRV, Art. 78 Abs. 1–2). Before buying, ask the commune or cantonal building authority about the unit's permit, its ZWG status and buying it versus land. Campsite rules are cantonal and communal: check with the commune.
Transport
Transport to Switzerland is organised by Mobile Home Logistic, the partner logistics company of the same group that transports Green Village homes. It is included in each unit's price delivered to Switzerland, with insurance at 100 % of the home's value. Green Village handles customs clearance into Switzerland. Homes are usually 3–4 m wide: we check the access road and plot entrance before delivery. The buyer provides access and room to unload.
Pricing
Year, size (British listings use feet: 35 × 12 ft ≈ 10.7 × 3.7 m), bedrooms, year-round or seasonal use and condition shape the price. Delivered prices start from €16,850; new homes, lodges and tiny houses have their own «from» prices in the catalogue. Prices are in euros, transport included, VAT extra: Swiss import tax is 8.1 % (MWSTG, Art. 55 Abs. 1), also the standard rate (MWSTG, Art. 25 Abs. 1). Since 1 January 2024, industrial goods incur no customs duty (BAZG, «Aufhebung Industriezölle»: chapters 25–97, except agricultural goods in chapters 35 and 38). Also budget for the plot, base, water and electricity, wastewater, permits and cantonal or communal fees.
Installation
The mobile home stands on its own chassis and needs a level, load-bearing base: a concrete slab, compacted gravel or concrete blocks. In the Alps and the Jura, account for snow loads and frost; on exposed sites, wind; near lakes, the water table. For winter use, choose insulation, double glazing, heating and frost protection for the pipes. Without mains drainage, plan for a septic tank or small treatment plant where the canton permits it: check with the commune. Bring electricity and water to the plot before delivery.
