An English Willerby Vacation in the Algarve: delivering José’s home

By Matheus Agueda · 3 November 2026

In short: on 21 May 2026 we delivered a used Willerby Vacation mobile home from England to José’s plot in Alcoutim, in the Algarve, Portugal. It is about 42 m² (around 3.70 m by 11 m) and roughly 20 years old, and he bought it from photos and videos. The access lane was very narrow, the home had to clear an overhead cable and it was set down in strong wind; in the end it stood where the client wanted it. The delivery video shows the whole day.

An English home bought from photos and videos

José did not see the home in person before buying it: he chose it from photos and videos, which, according to Matheus Agueda, Green Village’s founder, is how most of our clients buy. Fernando took the same route with the Willerby Salisbury we delivered in Santiago do Cacém the day before.

Arriving down a narrow lane

The delivery took place in the morning. The lane to the plot was so narrow that Matheus cut back branches so they would not touch the home, and getting in through the gate took a tight manoeuvre.

Transport from England was organised by Mobile Home Logistic, the partner logistics company of the same group, insured to 100 % and included in the price of the home.

What the chassis shows

Before unloading, Matheus walks round the chassis (from 1:22 in the video):

  • Rust: on a 20-year-old home, some rust on the chassis is normal. If the client wishes, we recommend treating it and applying protective paint.
  • Floor and insulation: the floor timber in good condition, and the insulation.
  • Pipework: the waste and water pipes.
  • Support points and legs: where the home rests. The wheels do not travel fitted and are put on at the plot.
  • Electricity: the home has a UK-style socket. A plug adaptor for Portuguese sockets, sold in electrical shops, is all it needs.
  • Gas: the connection is for bottled gas.

Where the home goes: checking with the client

On the plot, the client already had the water well ready. There was a base, and at first we thought it was for the home, but it was for a bungalow. So before going any further we checked with the client where he wanted the home (from 11:07 in the video): setting it down in the wrong place would have meant doing the work again.

Clearing the cable, in the wind

To reach its final spot, the home had to pass carefully over an overhead cable. It was set down in strong wind, which swung the home and called for great care from the team (from 22:10 in the video). Matheus says in the video that, however careful you are, a small knock sometimes happens, and that not every delivery is easy.

The home, delivered

At the end, with the home in place, Matheus shows the inside: the living room, the bathrooms and the bedrooms, while the client took his final measurements. Green Village was on site from the start to the end of the unloading (from 31:33 in the video).

The next day, Green Village also posted a short video of this delivery on TikTok, captioned “Casa entregue no Algarve, cliente senhor José” (“home delivered in the Algarve, client Mr José”). The last photo of this home’s route in the gallery was taken with the home already set down on the plot, in Alcoutim.

What stayed with the client

Green Village does not install homes: the mobile home is delivered and set down on its supports, without levelling. These always stay with the buyer:

  • the base and the levelling;
  • the water, waste, gas and electricity connections (here the water comes from the client’s well, and the UK-style socket connects through an adaptor);
  • any licences the municipality requires for the plot.

What this delivery teaches

  1. Agree where the home goes before delivery day. A base built for something else, a bungalow here, can mislead whoever arrives.
  2. Look at the access and the cables. Narrow lanes, branches and overhead cables are best checked before delivery day; anything not ready slows the unloading.
  3. Plan for the UK-style socket. A home from England needs an adaptor for Portuguese sockets; the gas is for bottles.
  4. Look after the chassis of a used home. Some rust is normal with age; treating and painting it protects the chassis.
  5. Know what warranty it has. A used home has no commercial warranty and carries an 18-month legal guarantee; a new home has the 3-year legal guarantee and a 10-year commercial warranty on the structure and against water ingress.

Other deliveries

The day before, Fernando’s Willerby Salisbury reached Santiago do Cacém and, earlier the same month, Paulo’s used Tudor reached Amarante. The used mobile homes in stock are delivered in mainland Portugal from €12,550, and deliveries in the region are in the guide to mobile homes in the Algarve. Earlier deliveries, from 2024, reached Ovar, Montalegre and Funchal, in Madeira. Photos of other deliveries, from origin to plot, are in the gallery.

Frequently asked questions

Did José see the home before buying it? Not in person. He chose it from photos and videos of the home, like most of our clients.

Does an English home work with Portuguese electricity? Yes. The home has a UK-style socket and connects to Portuguese sockets through a plug adaptor, sold in electrical shops.

Is rust on the chassis a problem? On a 20-year-old home, some rust on the chassis is normal. If the client wishes, we recommend treating it and applying protective paint.
