From the UK to Santiago do Cacém: Fernando’s used Willerby Salisbury

By Matheus Agueda · 3 November 2026

In short: on 20 May 2026 we delivered a used 2004 Willerby Salisbury mobile home of about 42 m² with two bedrooms to Fernando in Santiago do Cacém, in Portugal’s Alentejo. He chose it in the UK without seeing it in person, from real photos and videos that one of our sales managers sent him. The track to the plot was narrow and overgrown and the brush had to be cleared; the home arrived furnished, with its appliances, and was set down on the exact spot the client chose. The delivery video shows the whole day.

A purchase made from a distance

Fernando did not travel to the UK to see the home. He bought it in March 2026 from real photos and videos of the home at the supplier, which one of our sales managers sent him and talked through with him. This is an import purchase: the home is chosen in its country of origin and Green Village handles the rest up to the plot. It is also the route Paulo asked for with his next two homes, after receiving his used Tudor in Amarante.

The way to the plot

The video opens with Clara, from our team, following the route to the plot and stopping to check the access before arrival. The track was narrow and overgrown: the brush had to be cleared for the delivery to reach the spot. Before every delivery, a site visit checks whether anything extra is needed, such as cutting back vegetation, which the client should have ready. Here the access delayed the delivery, and that was the only point the client raised.

Transport from the UK was organised by Mobile Home Logistic, the partner logistics company of the same group, insured to 100 % and included in the price of the home.

What the chassis shows

Before unloading, Matheus Agueda, founder of Green Village, walks the chassis (from 7:31 in the video):

  • Support points: where the legs and the solid levelling blocks go.
  • Plumbing: insulated, under the floor.
  • Gas: the connection for two bottles.
  • Sewage: the outlet under the home.
  • Insulation and electrics: the underfloor insulation and the electrical installation, which comes with the home.

Unloading late in the afternoon

Halfway through, the home was set down again for an adjustment. Late in the afternoon, at about 30 °C, the client chose the exact spot he wanted, and the home was set down on its supports there.

Handing over the key

Green Village was there for the unloading and handed over the key, and the client went inside to check that everything was as he had bought it (from 38:01 in the video).

What stayed with the client

Green Village does not install homes: a mobile home is delivered and set down on its supports, without levelling. Fernando had prepared the base and the plumbing, was going to do the electrical panel and bought the stabilisers we recommend to level the home. The buyer always takes care of:

  • the base and the levelling;
  • the water, sewage, gas and electricity connections;
  • any licence the municipality requires for the plot.

What this delivery teaches a distance buyer

  1. Choose from real photos and videos of the home. They show the home you will receive, at the supplier, not a similar model.
  2. Get the access ready before delivery. Narrow tracks and brush are assessed at the site visit; whatever is not ready delays the delivery.
  3. Have the base and connections ready. The home arrives and is set down where the client chooses; the rest is the owner’s.
  4. Know what warranty it has. A used home has no commercial warranty and carries an 18-month legal guarantee; a new home carries the 3-year legal guarantee plus a 10-year commercial warranty on the structure and against water ingress.

Other deliveries

The next day, José’s Willerby Vacation reached Alcoutim, in the Algarve, and the used Tudor Paulo chose at the Vigo store reached Amarante the same month. Also in the Alentejo, in August 2025, a used Willerby Avonmore reached Grândola, for Graça and Ricardo. The used mobile homes in stock are delivered in mainland Portugal from €12,550, and deliveries across the country are in the guide to mobile homes in Portugal. Photos of other deliveries, from origin to plot, are in the gallery.

Frequently asked questions

Did Fernando see the home before buying it? Not in person. He chose it in the UK from real photos and videos of the home at the supplier, with one of our sales managers.

Why did the brush have to be cleared? The track to the plot was narrow and overgrown. The site visit before delivery assesses these points, and the client should have the access ready.

Did the home come furnished? Yes. This Willerby Salisbury arrived furnished, with its appliances.

Who levelled the home? The client. Green Village sets the home down on its supports, without levelling; Fernando bought the stabilisers we recommend to level it.

What warranty does a used home like this have? No commercial warranty; it carries an 18-month legal guarantee.
