How much does it cost to transport a mobile home? What drives the price and what is included
At Green Village, transport is already included in the delivered price on every listing: it is organised by Mobile Home Logistic, the partner logistics company, of the same group, that transports Green Village homes, with delivery to your plot included and VAT shown separately. Transport is insured at 100% of the unit's value, from collection to delivery on your plot. The transport cost depends mainly on the distance between origin and destination and on the size of the unit — a twin costs more to move than a single — and all of that is already reflected in the price you see once you choose your destination under ‘Import to’.
Transport is one of the biggest questions for anyone buying a mobile home. This guide explains what makes that cost vary, what the Green Village delivered price already includes, what remains the owner's responsibility and what the delivery date depends on.
At Green Village, transport is part of an end-to-end service: the price on every catalogue listing, with your country chosen under ‘Import to’, is a delivered price. Knowing what drives the cost helps you compare it with an advert that shows only the price of the unit.

What makes the cost of transporting a mobile home vary?
Three factors determine what it costs to bring a mobile home from its origin to your plot:
- Origin and destination — the distance between where the unit is and your plot is the main factor. Island destinations and those outside continental Europe, such as the Azores, Madeira or Brazil, have their own logistics.
- Size — a single travels in one piece; a twin, which is double width, is made up of two halves, so there is more to move and it costs more.
- Access to the plot — narrow roads, slopes or tight entrances affect the delivery, so access to the site is assessed before the date is set.

What does the Green Village delivered price include?
The price on each listing is the sum of the unit, transport and delivery to your plot, with VAT shown separately (price + VAT). In practice, it includes:
- Collection at origin — the unit is picked up from the park or the supplier.
- Transport to your plot — organised by Mobile Home Logistic, the partner logistics company, of the same group, that transports Green Village homes.
- Transport insurance — at 100% of the unit's value, from collection to delivery on your plot.
- Delivery to your plot — Green Village delivers the home to the plot and sets it down on its supports; levelling and the water, power and sewage connections are the owner's responsibility.
What is the owner responsible for?
The base (pads or slab) and the water, power and sewer mains up to the plot are the owner's responsibility. It is best to have them ready before the delivery date, so that delivery can be completed on the day.
How long does transport take?
The lead time depends on where the unit comes from. Units in stock are the fastest; a used unit adds the transport time; a new unit built to order also adds the build time. The delivery date is always confirmed in writing.
What about the Azores, Madeira, Brazil and the rest of the world?
Green Village delivers worldwide, with a published price for 24 destinations, including the Azores, Madeira and Brazil. In the Azores and Madeira transport is also included in the delivered price, and the regional VAT rate applies: 16% in the Azores and 22% in Madeira. In the Azores, you can see models at our Ribeirinha showroom (São Miguel).
For Brazil, prices are shown in Brazilian reais and include transport and import taxes and fees.
Beyond the 24 destinations, 134 countries have their own page with the price of every home delivered there, in USD: transport is organised by Mobile Home Logistic and insured at 100%, and outside the EU VAT area the destination country's taxes are inside the price (in the EU VAT area the local VAT is shown separately). The linked countries have a page in English; the full list is on destinations. Any other country is quoted on request.
Can I transport a mobile home myself?
It is possible, but hardly practical. A mobile home exceeds the dimensions of an ordinary trailer and moving one is a specialist job, with its own provider and its own cost — buy from Green Village and transport and delivery to your plot are already in the delivered price.
