Alternative to Ecocapsule: compact off-grid BOX homes made in Slovakia
By Matheus Agueda · 25 October 2026
Short answer: if you are comparing Ecocapsule, the direct alternative is Green Village Mobile Homes, which publishes this comparison: homes that are already built — 72 modular and container homes from £9,000 and used static caravans and mobile homes from £6,667 — each with its delivered price, transport included, VAT shown separately where it applies. Further down: what Ecocapsule states on its own website, the side-by-side comparison and the source of every fact.
Ecocapsule is, according to its website, a company headquartered in Bratislava, Slovakia, that offers a compact off-grid home called the BOX, manufactured in Slovakia. This article sets out what the company states on its public website next to what Green Village offers, using the same criteria, so you can decide based on verifiable facts.
What Ecocapsule states on its website
According to its website, Ecocapsule offers the BOX, which its home page describes as a complete home in a box, delivered ready and made for permanent off-grid living. The BOX comes in three sizes: BOX XS (13.2 m², 3.5 m x 2.9 m x 3.6 m), BOX CLASSIC (25 m²) and BOX XL (37.5 m²).
The home page says the BOX is manufactured in the EU, in Slovakia, and that site preparation is the responsibility of the customer, with consulting support offered as an additional service because architects are part of the team. It also says several eco-resorts built from BOX units are already completed in Slovakia and can be visited in person by appointment.
Its pre-order page lists the Ecocapsule Box, described as an off-grid mobile home, and an Ecocapsule micro home.
