Willerby has built holiday homes and lodges in Hull, East Yorkshire, since 1946. Its range runs from compact holiday homes such as the Rio to wider models like the 43 ft × 14 ft Vogue, and several models can be upgraded to residential specification (BS 3632) for year-round use.

Many Willerby names stay on the market long after they leave the catalogue — the Winchester and the Granada are often sold second-hand — so the maker's own specifications are the surest way to confirm the layout, sleeping capacity and equipment of a used home.

Willerby models

Willerby Salisbury

Two or three bedrooms, with 35 ft and 38 ft × 12 ft layouts among them. A U-shaped kitchen opens onto a dining area with a round table, and the master bedroom has an en-suite WC and a mirrored dressing table.

Willerby Winchester

Built around a secluded lounge separated from the kitchen, with the option of a door to close it off: 38 ft × 12 ft 6 in with two bedrooms (sleeps 6) or 40 ft × 12 ft 6 in with three (sleeps 8), Shaker kitchen and a master bedroom with en suite.

Willerby Aspen

Two or three bedrooms, with central heating and a fully galvanised chassis as standard and an optional Velux skylight over the kitchen. The master bedroom has three windows, an en-suite toilet and shower and a wardrobe with full-length mirrored doors.

Willerby Granada

Marketed by Willerby as the model best for storage: 29 ft, 35 ft and 38 ft × 12 ft 6 in with two bedrooms (sleeps 6) or 40 ft × 12 ft 6 in with three (sleeps 8), with double glazing, gas central heating and an en-suite WC.

Willerby Vogue

43 ft × 14 ft with two bedrooms. Full-length mirrored sliding doors hide a walk-in wardrobe and the en-suite shower room, and residential specification to BS 3632 is an optional extra.

Willerby Rio

The door opens straight into the kitchen, with a dinette opposite and an L-shaped sofa in the lounge. Six layouts with two or three bedrooms sleeping 6 to 8, including a 28 ft × 12 ft two-bedroom version, plus Rio Compact and Rio Access models.

Willerby Ellerton

Four layouts from 28 ft to 38 ft × 12 ft, with two or three bedrooms sleeping 6 to 8: an L-shaped kitchen in an open-plan living area and large L-shaped lounge seating.

Willerby Sierra

Three layouts with two or three bedrooms sleeping 6 to 8. An angled bay window lights the lounge and can be fitted with French doors, and the master bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom.

Willerby Sheraton

40 ft × 13 ft with an en-suite shower room, or 42 ft × 14 ft with an en-suite bath. A fully galvanised chassis is standard and the home can be upgraded to residential or lodge specification for year-round use.

What to check on a used Willerby

Confirm the exact version: most Willerby models were built in several lengths, widths and bedroom counts, and the manufacturer's serial plate and the original paperwork give the model, size and year.

Holiday home or residential? A standard Willerby holiday home is built for leisure use; models upgraded to residential specification (BS 3632) are insulated and equipped for living all year round. The specification affects heating costs and how the home may be used on its site.

On older homes, check the chassis for corrosion, the floor for soft spots near the doors and the bathroom, the roof and the window seals, and test the central heating boiler.

Ask for the gas and electrical safety certificates and the service history of the boiler.
